Job Description
Lead a long-established community hospital in the San Fernando Valley where medicine, mentorship, and client relationships still take priority over volume.
A multi-doctor small animal hospital in the San Fernando Valley is hiring a Lead Veterinarian to oversee its clinical team and help shape the next phase of the practice. This is a leadership role within an established hospital that has served the local community for decades and built a loyal client base through consistent medicine, approachable care, and strong team continuity.
The hospital has deep roots in the area and sees a broad range of medical and surgical cases across a diverse client population. Client communication and education are a major part of the hospital’s approach, with veterinarians encouraged to spend time building trust and helping owners feel informed about their pets’ care. The team includes multilingual support staff, allowing the hospital to serve the surrounding community in a way that feels accessible and personal.
The incoming Lead Veterinarian will work closely with hospital leadership while still remaining active clinically. The role includes mentoring veterinarians, supporting medical standards, helping guide protocols, and creating a stable, collaborative environment for the wider team. Leadership is hands-on and practical, with an emphasis on consistency, accountability, and maintaining a positive culture rather than corporate-style oversight.
The hospital is equipped to support a high standard of general practice medicine and surgery, including advanced diagnostics and modern treatment capabilities. Support staff are experienced and well utilised, and the practice has maintained a strong local reputation by combining long-term community trust with continued investment in equipment, medicine, and patient care standards.
