Job Description
We are working on behalf of a privately owned, growing small-animal hospital in Lancaster, PA, that is looking to welcome an Associate Veterinarian to its collaborative team.
This is a well-resourced practice with a strong doctor-to-support-staff ratio, allowing veterinarians to focus on practicing high-quality medicine and surgery rather than routine technical work. The hospital is owner-led, with a leadership team that genuinely understands the realities of clinical life and is committed to maintaining a healthy work–life balance for the team. Whether you’re an experienced DVM or a confident newer graduate, you’ll have the support, autonomy, and caseload to grow at your own pace.
The culture is genuinely positive — a team that enjoys working together, supports one another, and maintains a high standard of care without losing the fun. With approximately 2.5–3.5 support staff per doctor, technicians and assistants handle the bulk of nail trims, blood draws, and routine tasks so you can spend your time examining, diagnosing, and treating patients. With one associate moving on to start a mobile dental venture and ongoing growth, the practice is now adding to its doctor team — with the opportunity to step into a busy caseload, contribute to protocols, and help shape the future of a privately owned hospital where your voice is heard.
- Privately owned, multi-doctor small-animal practice with local decision-making
- Competitive base salary plus industry-leading 22% production
- Strong doctor-to-support-staff ratio (approx. 2–3 per doctor) so you can focus on medicine
- Collaborative, supportive culture with a team that genuinely enjoys working together
- Owner who values work–life balance and is actively building a sustainable schedule for the team
- Full-time and part-time options available
- Opportunity to shape protocols and contribute to a growing, privately owned hospital
- DVM/VMD degree and eligibility for licensure in Pennsylvania
- Ideally 1–2+ years of GP experience, though newer graduates are welcome
- Comfortable working independently on most cases, including routine soft tissue surgery
- Strong communication skills and a client-centered, compassionate approach
- Team player who values culture, collaboration, and long-term tenure
- Open to learning and contributing to a thriving, fun clinic environment
- Competitive base salary
- Industry-leading 22% production
- Flexible schedule with no weekends!
- Supportive, well-staffed environment with experienced technicians
- Privately owned practice with autonomy and influence over protocols
- Further benefits package (healthcare, CE, PTO) to be discussed at interview
