Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career or experienced DVM seeking strong mentorship, clinical variety, and a supportive workplace culture in a town known for its affordability, natural beauty, and relaxed pace of life.
Kitimat Veterinary Hospital is a fully equipped small animal practice featuring digital radiography, digital dental radiography, an in-house laboratory, spacious exam rooms, and a well-organized layout designed for efficient, high-quality care. The current team includes two veterinarians, two RVTs, four veterinary assistants, two receptionists, and a highly respected practice manager. The hospital places strong emphasis on progressive medicine, teamwork, client education, and on empowering each team member to contribute meaningfully to patient care.
You’ll be joining an environment where collaboration is encouraged, mentorship is always available, and continuing education is genuinely supported. With no specialty referral centers in the region, veterinarians here benefit from a broad and rewarding caseload, allowing you to develop your skills in diagnostics, surgery, and complex case management.
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, with no weekend hours, and after-hours responsibilities are shared evenly with one other clinic in nearby Terrace to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
Kitimat itself offers quiet living, plenty of space, and remarkable access to outdoor recreation, including hiking, fishing, mountain biking, kayaking, and wildlife viewing.
It’s an ideal destination for those looking to get ahead financially, escape big-city crowds, and enjoy a lifestyle centered around nature, balance, and community.
