Job Description

We are working on behalf of a full service companion animal hospital in Locust Grove, VA that is looking to welcome a full time Associate Veterinarian to its team.

This is a small animal general practice covering medicine, surgery, and dentistry, built around preventive care for young pets, early detection and treatment as patients age, and the surgical and medical support they need through every stage of life.

The schedule is the part most doctors notice first. Shifts are built around your availability, there is no on-call, and there are no late night expectations, so you can plan your week and actually leave on time. A strong staff to doctor ratio means you are backed by an experienced support team who give you the room to focus on your patients rather than on everything else.

Compensation is a competitive base with production on top, and the practice has confirmed a sign-on bonus of up to $60,000 for the right doctor. The benefits package covers health, dental, vision, and retirement, alongside a generous CE allowance and full coverage of your licenses and professional dues, plus paid holidays and a generous PTO allowance so you have real time to recharge.

DVM or VMD degree from an accredited institution
You hold, or are eligible for, licensure in the state of Virginia
Comfortable with small animal medicine, surgery, and dentistry in a general practice setting
Collaborative team player with strong communication skills
Committed to preventive care and to building long term client relationships
Open to mentoring and learning from the wider team
