Job Description
A well-established small-animal hospital in Montpelier, Virginia, is seeking to welcome a full-time Veterinarian to its team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected general practice that offers comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care in a modern, well-equipped setting.
The hospital is supported by a loyal client base, an experienced clinical team, and a schedule designed to support a strong work-life balance, with no on-call or late-night expectations. Compensation is highly competitive at $120,000–$150,000 plus production, alongside a generous sign-on bonus and a strong benefits package.
The practice itself is a genuine full-service clinic with in-house diagnostic capability, including X-ray, ultrasound, blood testing, and lab screening, allowing doctors to work up a broad mix of cases with confidence. Clinical services span wellness and preventative care through to surgery, dentistry, senior pet care, pain management, and more, making this a great fit for a veterinarian who enjoys variety in general practice. The hospital also offers boarding and grooming, adding to its role as a trusted, community-centered resource for pet owners.
From a team perspective, you would be joining a collaborative environment with excellent support. The current roster includes three veterinarians, licensed technicians, assistants, and a practice manager with clinical training, creating a structure that helps doctors work efficiently and focus on patient care. There is clear value placed on compassionate medicine, staying current with industry developments, and maintaining a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for both clients and staff. For a new graduate or an early-career DVM, this setup could offer valuable day-to-day support and exposure to experienced colleagues; for a more established veterinarian, it offers stability, autonomy, and a strong platform to practice high-quality medicine.
The package is equally appealing. In addition to production and sign-on support, the hospital offers flexible scheduling tailored to availability, covered licenses and dues, generous CE support, PTO, paid holidays, health, dental, and vision benefits, retirement benefits, and potential partnership opportunities. Altogether, this is a role that combines clinical quality, team support, and a very sustainable pace of work.
