Job Description

We are working on behalf of an independently owned, newly built veterinary hospital in New Bern, NC that is looking to welcome an Associate Veterinarian to its growing team.

Opened just over a year ago, this modern facility was designed from the ground up to support both general practice and emergency medicine under one roof, meaning pets never need to be transferred between a day clinic and a separate emergency facility. The hospital is equipped with five exam rooms, separate dog and cat wards, an isolation suite with its own ventilation, a double surgery suite, a dedicated dental suite, in-house IDEXX laboratory equipment, digital radiography, and an on-site CT scanner, a rare capability for a hospital of this size. You will practice general medicine during the day alongside true emergency coverage in the evenings, with a schedule built around four working days a week and rotating weekend shifts.

DVM or equivalent degree with the ability to hold or obtain licensure in North Carolina
Comfortable with, or willing to learn, both general practice and emergency medicine
Happy to see cats, dogs and the occasional exotic or pocket pet patient
A team player who is hands on, personable and willing to pitch in wherever needed
Pragmatic and compassionate when working within a range of client budgets
Open to rotating weekend shifts as part of a four day working week
