Job Description
This is an exceptional opportunity for both experienced clinicians and newer graduates seeking strong mentorship, a diverse caseload, and a lifestyle immersed in the natural beauty of coastal British Columbia.
Our partner’s hospital is a fully equipped small-animal practice that sees a wide variety of cases, thanks to its remote location and the region’s active pet-owning community. The hospital features digital radiography, digital dental X-ray, ultrasound, an in-house diagnostic suite, spacious exam rooms, and Avimark medical records. With a team of full-time veterinarians, experienced RVTs, veterinary assistants, and a knowledgeable practice manager, the hospital is well-supported, collaborative, and deeply committed to high-quality, fear-free medicine.
Because there are no specialty referral centers nearby, veterinarians here enjoy exposure to a wide breadth of medical and surgical cases. Common emergency presentations include porcupine quills, foreign bodies, trauma cases, laceration repairs, toxicities, blocked cats, and more, providing excellent professional growth in a supportive environment. The hospital provides 24/7 on-call coverage, supported by an RVT on call and after-hours triage.
Prince Rupert offers a unique coastal lifestyle where adventure is woven into everyday living. With world-class hiking, kayaking, fishing, wildlife viewing, and mountain biking, the region is a haven for those looking to escape traffic, crowds, long commutes, and rising housing costs. Despite being a northern port city, its mild coastal climate allows for year-round outdoor activities, making it an ideal location for veterinarians seeking balance, affordability, and connection to nature.
