Job Description
We’re hiring an Associate Veterinarian for a small animal general practice in Sacramento, California.
This is a full-service GP that handles dogs, cats, and a significant number of exotic pets, including pocket pets, rabbits, and reptiles. The hospital has been established in the community for years and has a steady, predictable caseload rather than constant overbooking or urgent-care chaos. Appointments are scheduled in 30-minute blocks, and doctors are not expected to rush through cases to keep the day moving.
Medicine here is straightforward and thorough. Diagnostics are performed in-house using digital radiography, ultrasound, full laboratory capabilities, and dental radiographs. Hands-free radiology is the standard, not an exception. When advanced imaging or cardiology support is needed, board-certified specialists perform on-site ultrasounds and echocardiograms, so cases stay with the primary doctor rather than being handed off.
The technician team is experienced and consistently staffed, with dedicated technical support for every appointment. Doctors focus on medical decision-making, client communication, and follow-through rather than filling staffing gaps. Leadership is present, clinically engaged, and receptive to input from associates.
The hospital is closed on nights and weekends, and there are no after-hours emergencies.
