Job Description
We are working on behalf of a locally owned, gold-standard small animal hospital in Saint Petersburg, FL, that is looking to welcome an Associate Veterinarian to its growing team.
This is a thoughtfully built practice that places equal emphasis on high medical standards, exceptional client experience, and team wellbeing. The hospital is grounded in a clear belief that veterinary medicine works best when a practice is independently owned and operated — meaning every decision is made with patients, pet parents, and people in mind, not corporate metrics.
The team operates out of a welcoming, well-equipped facility with comprehensive in-house diagnostic capabilities, including digital imaging and blood, urine, and fecal analyses, as well as a reference lab partnership for advanced testing. Doctors here practice the full breadth of small-animal medicine, from preventive wellness and dentistry to soft-tissue surgery and chronic disease management.
Whether you are an experienced DVM or a confident new graduate seeking genuine mentorship, this is a culture of purpose where doctors are supported by an experienced practice manager, a lead technician, and a tight-knit team of CSRs and technicians. You will have the autonomy to develop strong, lasting relationships with your clients, the time to practice thorough, head-to-toe medicine, and the backing of a leadership team that genuinely understands the day-to-day realities of clinical life.
- Locally owned and operated — decisions made for pets and people, not shareholders
- Modern, well-equipped facility with comprehensive in-house diagnostics, digital imaging, and reference lab partnership
- Full-spectrum small animal GP including wellness, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and internal medicine
- Experienced support team including a dedicated practice manager, technicians, and skilled CSRs

- Thoughtful, head-to-toe appointment style with time built in for great medicine and great client communication
- Beautiful Tampa Bay location minutes from St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, and Tierra Verde
- DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US
- You hold (or are eligible for) Florida state veterinary licensure
- 2+ years of experience in small animal general practice is preferred
- Passionate about high-quality, ethical, client-focused medicine
- Strong communicator who genuinely enjoys building long-term relationships with pet parents
- Collaborative team player who thrives in a tight-knit, locally owned environment
- Open to learning, growth, and contributing to a culture that prioritizes both patient and team wellbeing
- Competitive base salary with production opportunities (total comp of $160k+)
- Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Generous CE allowance with paid CE time
