Job Description
I’m working with a highly regarded, privately owned companion animal hospital in Torrance, CA, that is looking to welcome an Associate Veterinarian to their growing team.
This is an AAHA-accredited practice known for its strong clinical standards, collaborative culture, and commitment to providing both high-quality medicine and a genuinely supportive working environment. We are looking for a DVM to join on a flexible schedule, either 3 or 4 days per week, with limited weekend coverage split among the other DVMs (currently every fourth Saturday only, looking to get to every fifth weekend!).
The team is well-established and includes experienced RVTs, a full management team, and a dedicated support structure that allows doctors to focus on patient care rather than administrative pressures. Each veterinarian is supported daily by a dedicated RVT/technician, along with additional float and hospitalization technicians and a pharmacy assistant to streamline workflow. Appointment times are set at 30–60 minutes, with blocked lunch breaks and protected callback time built into every shift, ensuring a more structured and less pressured day.
Clinically, the hospital offers a broad range of small-animal services, including preventive care, diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry, supported by modern equipment such as digital radiography, ultrasound, an in-house laboratory, and paperless medical records. The environment is designed to be efficient, respectful, and team-oriented, with a focus on maintaining a positive workplace where veterinarians can thrive both professionally and personally. With flexible scheduling options across a 3- or 4-day work week and a salary range of $135,000–$180,000 plus production, this role offers both career progression and a strong work-life balance.
- Associate Veterinarian role available on a full-time or part-time basis
- Privately owned, AAHA-accredited small animal practice
- Open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates with mentorship available
- Highly structured workflow with 30–60 minute appointments and protected admin time
- Dedicated daily RVT/technician support, plus additional float and hospitalization staff
- Strong clinical facilities including digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house lab, and paperless records
- Flexible 3- or 4-day work week with competitive salary of $150,000–$180,000 plus production
- DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US
- You hold (or are eligible for) a licensure in California
- Passion for delivering high-quality small animal medicine
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to team-based care
- Open to continuous learning and development, whether experienced or a recent graduate
- Competitive salary with production (Pro-Sal structure)
- Very limited weekends required
- 401(k) with employer contribution (even if you don’t contribute)
- Monthly medical insurance allowance plus dental, vision, and alternative care options
- Generous CE allowance with access to AAHA courses and covered licenses/dues
- Paid vacation, paid holidays, pet discounts, PLIT allowance, and Employee Assistance Program
