A well-established veterinary hospital in Conroe, TX is seeking a Medical Lead Veterinarian to join its collaborative 4 doctor team!
This full-service small animal hospital has been serving the Conroe community for close to a decade, building a loyal client base through compassionate, high-quality care.
Alongside general veterinary services, the practice offers boarding and grooming, giving clients a true one-stop destination for their pets.
This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on clinical medicine with hospital leadership. As Lead Veterinarian, you will mentor a team of associate veterinarians, help shape clinical standards, and partner closely with the hospital manager to support the team’s growth and the practice’s continued success, all while maintaining your own active caseload.
You’ll be joining a four doctor team supported by an experienced hospital manager and a dedicated support staff. The hospital offers a broad range of services, including wellness and preventive care, diagnostics, advanced care such as acupuncture, complex surgical procedures, and urgent care, giving you the opportunity to practice comprehensive, rewarding medicine.
The hospital operates Monday through Friday with Saturday morning hours and is closed on Sundays, offering a flexible and manageable schedule. You will also be backed by the resources of a larger veterinary organization, including access to specialty consultations, structured mentorship, and continuing education programs designed to support your growth as a clinical leader.
Located just outside Houston near Lake Conroe, this role offers easy access to city amenities alongside small town charm and year round outdoor recreation, including boating, fishing, and hiking.

- DVM degree and a valid Texas veterinary license in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience
- Comfortable stepping into a leadership role while continuing to practice medicine
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Willingness to learn hospital financial and operational management
- Proficient with common office and computer software
- Enthusiastic about mentoring associate veterinarians and building a strong team culture
- Base salary $150,000 to $170,000 plus monthly production bonus with no negative accrual
