Job Description
A well-established small-animal hospital in Lancaster, South Carolina, is seeking an experienced veterinarian to step into a Medical Director position that combines hands-on clinical work with meaningful leadership influence.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a doctor who enjoys high-quality GP medicine, mentoring others, and helping shape the medical direction of a respected community practice.
The hospital provides comprehensive care for dogs and cats, including wellness and preventive medicine, surgery, diagnostics, pain management, client education, behavioral support, nutrition counseling, in-house pharmacy, and laboratory services. The team is known for compassionate, individualized care and a strong commitment to building lasting client relationships.
As Medical Director, you’ll lead medical standards, support veterinarians and clinical staff, help develop protocols, partner with hospital leadership, and maintain an active caseload. The practice is well-equipped with dedicated exam rooms, surgical capabilities, in-house diagnostics, pharmacy support, and a collaborative workflow designed to keep patient care efficient and communication clear.

- DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US
- You hold (or are eligible for) a licensure in South Carolina
- 5+ years of clinical experience preferred
- Prior leadership, mentorship, or Medical Director experience strongly desired
