Job Description
I am delighted to be working with a long-established, full-service small animal hospital in Harnett County that has been a trusted part of its community since the mid-1980s.
This is a rare opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to step into a Medical Director position within a thriving, well-supported practice that blends deep community roots with a progressive, forward-thinking approach to medicine.
This hospital provides comprehensive GP services, including preventive care, internal medicine, diagnostics, dentistry, and soft-tissue surgery. The team prides itself on delivering high-quality, evidence-based care in a collaborative, upbeat environment. You’ll be supported by a loyal, experienced nursing and client care team who value teamwork and clear communication. The culture is genuinely supportive—mentorship, idea-sharing, and professional growth are actively encouraged.
As Medical Director, you’ll enjoy the best of both worlds: hands-on clinical work combined with the autonomy to lead, mentor, and help shape the strategic direction of the hospital. You’ll have the opportunity to guide clinical standards, influence hospital growth, and inspire a team that truly cares about delivering exceptional service to pets and their families.
The hospital is part of a veterinarian-guided ownership group known for strong DVM retention, collaborative peer networks, and meaningful investment in continuing education and leadership development. With no non-competes, no negative accrual, and a generous sign-on bonus plus relocation support, this role offers both professional freedom and financial security.

- Medical Director opportunity with real clinical autonomy and leadership influence
- Supportive, collaborative team culture with strong staff retention
- Blend of clinical work and mentorship/leadership responsibilities

- DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US
- You hold (or are eligible for) a licensure in North Carolina
- Passionate about high-quality, evidence-based small animal medicine
- Experienced clinician ready to step into (or further develop in) a leadership role
- Strong communicator who enjoys mentoring and collaborating with a team
- Competitive compensation package with sign-on bonus
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance (majority employer-paid)
- 401(k) with employer match
- Generous CE allowance plus additional leadership development programs
- Paid maternity leave, PTO, professional dues, and license reimbursement
