Job Description
Established small animal general practice in Littleton, Colorado, seeking a Medical Director for a four-day workweek.
This hospital has served the southwest Littleton community for over 40 years and is known locally for steady, relationship-based care. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 6 pm, with a protected one-hour lunch break each day. The Medical Director works four days per week, Monday through Thursday. The practice is closed on weekends.
The medical team includes experienced associate veterinarians, a tenured technician group, and dedicated support staff. One senior doctor is a CSU graduate with decades of experience in both general practice and acupuncture, with a strong focus on senior patient care and long-term quality of life management. The hospital practices Fear Free handling techniques consistently and incorporates them into routine appointments and procedures.
The caseload is balanced and predictable. Appointments are scheduled in 30-minute blocks, allowing time for thorough exams, diagnostics, and client communication. The majority of cases involve wellness care, internal medicine, dentistry, and routine soft-tissue surgery. The hospital is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory capabilities, supporting complete diagnostic workups without unnecessary referral.
The Medical Director will maintain an active clinical role while providing clear medical leadership. This includes setting and refining protocols, supporting associate development, guiding standards of care, and ensuring consistency in medical decision-making. There is autonomy to practice medicine thoughtfully and to shape how cases are approached within the hospital.
