A well-established small animal hospital in St. Joseph, MO, is seeking a Medical Director to lead its experienced 3-DVM team!
This is a full-time leadership position within a 10,000 sq. ft. facility, offering a balance of hands-on clinical work and oversight of medical standards.
The stunning, stand-alone clinic is fully equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, and laser therapy, supporting a wide range of medical and surgical cases, including orthopedics. There is also flexibility to see exotics and avian patients for those with an interest in expanding their caseload.
This role offers a structured, consistent 4-day workweek with no weekend requirements, supporting consistency and work-life balance!
You will be working alongside three experienced DVMs and a well-trained support team, providing a strong foundation for collaborative decision-making and mentorship. The hospital has an established client base and consistent workflow, allowing the Medical Director to focus on maintaining clinical standards, supporting team development, and guiding the practice forward.

- DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US
- You hold (or are eligible for) a Veterinary State License in Missouri
- Previous leadership experience preferred (or interest in stepping into a leadership role)
- Confident in both medical and surgical case management
- Strong communication skills and team-oriented approach
