Job Description
Join a forward-thinking, privately owned veterinary hospital in Central Florida that combines the energy of growth with the heart of a family-run practice.
Established over 25 years ago, this thriving hospital has expanded into a 30,000 sq.ft. campus featuring a 10,000 sq.ft. general practice and a 20,000 sq.ft. state-of-the-art referral and emergency facility.
The leadership team is seeking an experienced Medical Director to help guide their multi-department hospital through its next exciting phase of growth. You’ll join a talented team of 20+ doctors and 130+ support staff, including specialists across emergency, surgery, and internal medicine. With a 4% staff turnover rate, this is a hospital where people stay, thrive, and genuinely enjoy coming to work.
As Medical Director, you’ll balance leadership with clinical work—providing mentorship, ensuring medical excellence, and helping shape the future of a mission-driven hospital that operates under the philosophy of “One Tribe.” You’ll have the autonomy to make impactful decisions while being supported by a compassionate ownership group who are deeply involved and invested in the team’s well-being.
The facility is fully equipped with a 1.5T MRI, 64-slice CT, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, minimally invasive surgical suites, and dedicated oncology and ultrasound rooms. With dedicated technicians and assistants for every doctor, you’ll have the infrastructure needed to lead effectively without sacrificing quality of care.

- Oversee and mentor a talented multi-department team (GP, ER, Specialty)
- Advanced equipment: 1.5T MRI, 64-slice CT, HBOT, minimally invasive surgery
- Supportive ownership and “One Tribe” culture with low staff turnover
- 3–4 day work week with autonomy over scheduling
- Strong collaborative ethos and freedom to shape clinical standards
- Flexible mix of leadership, clinical, and strategic input
- DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US
- You hold (or are eligible for) a licensure in Florida
-
Minimum 5 years of leadership experience, within a clinical setting
- Passionate about building team culture and elevating medical standards
- Collaborative, communicative, and motivated by a shared mission
- Competitive Pro/Sal compensation package
- Base salary from $180K–$220K, with additional performance-based bonuses
- Negotiable sign-on and relocation assistance
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- CE allowance, license/membership coverage, and PTO flexibility
