Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Regional Medical Director to oversee a group of fantastic veterinary hospitals across the Nashville, Tennessee.
This is a dynamic leadership position where you’ll shape clinical excellence, mentor DVMs, and establish best practices that elevate standards of care and client service across a thriving network of hospitals.
This is more than a single-site leadership role—you’ll have the opportunity to influence the direction of veterinary medicine regionally, while still staying clinically active through mentoring the next generation of Veterinarians. Working alongside a Regional Operations Director, you’ll guide hospital teams, support associate development, and ensure consistent delivery of top-tier care.
Your responsibilities will include mentoring new graduates, recruiting and onboarding talented doctors, and fostering a culture of collaboration and growth. You’ll be instrumental in setting medical standards, refining workflows, and ensuring the highest quality outcomes for patients and their families.
This role will involve remote working as well as travel to various hospitals in the Nashville vicinity.
This role is ideal for a veterinarian who thrives in a leadership capacity while wanting to maintain hands-on clinical involvement. You’ll receive the resources, support, and autonomy needed to lead effectively while shaping the future of veterinary care in Nashville, Tennessee.
- Regional Medical Director role overseeing several hospitals across Nashville, TN
- Partner with operations leadership to optimize performance and client satisfaction
- Mentor and coach veterinarians through one-on-one development and reviews
- Maintain high standards for medical care, client communication, and compliance
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention of veterinary talent
- Play an active role in setting protocols, formularies, and clinical decision-making
- Support CE initiatives and lead regular doctor meetings across locations
- Represent the group at local vet schools and oversee externship programs
- Complete 30–40 hours of CE annually to set the standard for continued growth
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Active Tennessee veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience in veterinary leadership (multi-site preferred but not essential)
- Strong communicator with a collaborative, solution-driven approach
