Job Description

Take your career to new heights with an incredible Medical Director opportunity working in a progressive, multi-doctor clinic in north Phoenix.

Located in North Phoenix, you will be managing a team of 5 DVMs combining over 40 years of experience in a modern, full-service clinic, seeing small animals, exotics, pocket pets, and avian species. Providing an extensive list of routine and advanced services, no two days will be the same! The hospital actively encourages fear-free methods of handling and homes an incredible range of facilities, including ultrasound, ECG, dental X-ray, an in-house laboratory, digital X-ray, radiography, and fully equipped surgical suites.

Your duties will involve assisting with the recruitment of future veterinary staff, sharing cultural and clinical updates with your team, working closely with doctors to support their clinical goals through training and mentoring where necessary. You will also build strong relationships across all departments, stay well-informed about operational KPIs, and communicate updates to leadership teams.

In addition to your management responsibilities, you will be allocated enough time in clinic so you can continue practicing the medicine that you love. Caseload can be accommodated depending on your clinical interests with additional CE provided where necessary. If you enjoy mentoring, there is also ample opportunity to fit this into your schedule.

This organization values work-life balance and will make adjustments in schedule where possible to accommodate things in your personal life such as school drop-offs and pick-ups, family dynamics, regular leisure activities etc. You will also be pleased to hear that weekends are kept to a minimum, only opening on a Saturday between 9am-3pm, you will work roughly one Saturday per month which is up for negotiation.
