Job Description
We are working on behalf of a well-established, multi-doctor, modern small-animal and exotic practice near Windsor Locks, CT that is looking to welcome a full-time Veterinarian to its experienced team.
This is a five-doctor hospital with a genuine team-first culture, where work-life balance is treated as essential rather than an afterthought. Founded over four decades ago, the practice has grown into a thriving, community-focused clinic caring for dogs, cats, and small mammals, including rabbits, ferrets, and birds.
The role covers comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care across a small animal and exotic caseload. You will perform routine and general practice surgeries (no orthopedic or neurosurgery) and have the room to build your dentistry skills, with exotics dental work a welcome bonus. There is also exposure to reproductive cases, and a keen interest in canine reproduction is encouraged. The hospital is well equipped with in-house IDEXX diagnostics, digital dental and traditional X-ray, and in-house ultrasound, plus easy access to local specialists and ERs for more complex workups.
You will be supported by a strong 2.5-to-1 staff to doctor ratio, with the last appointment of the day at 5:00pm, no on-call, and appointments scheduled in comfortable 20 to 30-minute blocks. The schedule runs 30 to 40 hours across four days with a Saturday rotation, giving you the time and the respect you need to practice great medicine. Genuine partnership opportunities are also available for those who want them.
