A well-established small animal practice in San Antonio, TX is seeking a driven Veterinarian to join as Medical Director!
This is a small animal general practice with a caseload perfect for those who love variation, including: preventive care, wellness exams, vaccinations, and soft tissue surgery. The hospital has earned an excellent reputation in the local community, backed by consistent five-star reviews and a loyal, growing client base.
Located in the Alamo Ranch area on the fast-growing west side of San Antonio, the practice has a calm, collaborative culture and notably low staff turnover, giving you a stable foundation to lead from on day one.
As Medical Director, you will partner closely with the practice manager and wider leadership team to shape the hospital’s vision, drive positive change, and maintain high standards of patient and client care. You will mentor veterinarians across varying experience levels and play a central role in building a strong, values driven team culture.
The practice is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm and Saturdays from 8am to 1pm, with a consistent four-day work week on offer for this role. Flexibility can be given for the right candidate.
Compensation includes a competitive base salary, quarterly production pay with no negative accrual, and a generous Medical Director stipend. You will also have access to a structured leadership development program, combining self paced learning, live presentations, and 1:1 mentorship, to support your growth into this position.

- DVM or VMD degree, or equivalent, that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US
- Hold, or are eligible for, a Veterinary State License in Texas in good standing
- Active DEA license, or DEA licensure eligible
- Comfortable stepping into, or growing into, a hospital leadership role
- Passionate about mentoring veterinarians of varying experience levels
- A collaborative communicator who wants to help build a strong team culture
